Barbecue Celebrating Iowa’s Workers, Featuring Nate Boulton

The Poweshiek Democrats are hosting a barbecue honoring Iowa’s workers and featuring remarks by Democratic gubernatorial candidate Nate Boulton. This event will take place from noon to 2 p.m. at the Merrill Park East Shelter in Grinnell.

In 2017, Iowa’s Republican-controlled state government went to war against the state’s workers, passing laws limiting public sector unions’ right to organize, slashing worker’s compensation, and eliminating local minimum wage increases. Boulton, who has endorsements from more than twenty of the state’s labor unions, will speak about the Democratic Party’s efforts to ensure that the state’s workers are at the forefront of the 2018 campaign.
